Calling all history buffs! We’re delighted to be partnering with BBC History Magazine for the second year running, with two breaks taking place at Cricket St Thomas and Littlecote House this autumn.

Take a trip back in time as you join some of Britain’s top historians for a three night break brimming with stories, talks and Q&A sessions about some of the most interesting periods in history. Special guests will include broadcasters, authors, presenters and professors, each immersing you in tales of the past, from the Tudors and Victorians to the mysterious world of espionage.

What to expect: The BBC History Magazine weekend experience

Each of our weekends will be hosted by content director and former BBC History Magazine editor Dave Musgrove.

“I’m really excited that we’re bringing BBC History weekends back to Warner Hotels this autumn. After some great events last year, we have two exciting weekends planned for 2025, returning to Littlecote House and heading to Cricket St Thomas for the first time. I’m looking forward to hearing talks from great historians such as Tracy Borman, Janina Ramirez, Ruth Goodman, Marc Morris and Fern Riddell. Plus, you won't want to miss the great spy story from Gordon Corera and the history of tank warfare from Mark Urban. I hope to see you at one, or both weekends!”

As well as the delicious breakfasts, three-course dinners, daily activities and evening entertainment included in every Warner Hotels break as standard, these unforgettable weekends also include:

  • Two 45-minute talks on both the Saturday and Sunday
  • Interactive Q&A sessions with the speakers
  • Fun history quiz with prizes up for grabs
  • The chance to mingle and chat with the day’s experts
  • Stunning surroundings that are teeming with their own history and full of things to discover
