THINGS TO DO:
Discover the best beaches near our hotels
9th July 2025

The weather is warming up and summer is in full swing so there’s no better time to head for the coast. And with the sun shining, the shoreline is calling your name. Whether you're craving golden sands, quiet coves, or a surfers’ paradise, we've got you covered. Check out the top recommended beaches near some our hotels, so all you need to do is pack your sunscreen and choose your spot.

UK’s Sunshine Island: The Isle of Wight
Just a short ferry boat ride across the Solent will see you arrive at a real jewel of the south coast. Our two beautiful hotels, Bembridge Coast (which is a stones’ throw away from the stony Bembridge beach!) and Norton Grange, sit either side of the Island and are close to some of the best coastal spots just waiting to be discovered.
Freshwater Bay: Known as one of the most picturesque beaches in West Wight, this smaller beach has a more relaxed and tranquil feel than the busier North and East of the island, and at low tide, there are lots of rockpools to explore.
Ryde Beach: If you love the feel of sand between your toes and miles of open shoreline to stroll along at your leisure, the beach at Ryde offers just that. Extending round to nearby Appley Beach, the spacious stretch slopes gently to the shore and has many amenities and water sports to enjoy.

Suffolk coastal escapes
Our two coastal villages, Corton and Gunton Hall, are situated along the glorious coastline which stretches 50 miles and has plenty of beautiful beaches to explore. As well as being a short walk to Corton beach, the picturesque Southwold and most easterly town, Lowestoft.
Felixstowe: This charming Edwardian seaside town has a 4 mile stretch of beach and 2 mile promenade and is a bustling spot for that traditional seaside experience. From seafront gardens to arcades and amusements, there’s a wonderful mix of attractions to create even more holiday memories.
Covehithe: For those seeking a more secluded spot, this is Suffolk’s most remote and wild beach that can only be reached by a single track. The golden sands are framed by crumbling cliffs and great care needs to be taken to respect the wildlife and environment. Take a picnic and enjoy the peace and quiet – but be mindful that there are no facilities due to the wild nature of this unspoilt cove.

Classic seaside charm in North Wales
Our Grae II listed Victorian stately home sits in the grounds of the romantic castle and grounds, and although you may seem to be surrounded by countryside and views of the Clwydian Hills, the coastline isn’t far away.
Rhyl beach: The classic seaside town of Rhyl is a 15 minute drive away, home to traditional holiday activities and attractions, including sea fishing and kite surfing. Stretching two miles long the coast, there’s plenty for you to do as you while away an afternoon here.
Talacre beach: Located on the northernmost point of Wales and less than half of an hour from Bodelwyddan Castle is this sandy beach known for the scenic Point of Ayr lighthouse. Extensive sand dunes that run along the beach and the nearby nature reserve mean the surrounding area is classed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, home to diverse wildlife including natterjack toads!

Hayling Island: Miles of unspoilt coastline
We’re lucky enough to have two unique hotels on this beautiful island which holds a European Blue Flag award. Lakeside and Sinah Warren are both to the south and not far from the islands most popular seafront with views over the Solent. Walk, cycle and sail the coast and choose from lots of safe spots for swimming, picnicking and wildlife spotting.
Sandy Point AONB: Sitting adjacent to the nature reserve, you might be able to spot some rare wildlife. These beaches can be accessed by foot from the promenade that runs along the top of the seafront and offer great views across to the Witterings and Selsey Bill on a clear day.
Bound Lane: Known as Hayling’s quietist beach on the seafront, its shingle shoreline is backed by grassland and has colourful beach huts overlooking the sea.
