THINGS TO DO:
Rediscover your joy at Warner Hotels
7th October 2025

What have you discovered later in life that brings you happiness? Whether it be seeing loved ones, focusing more on health and wellbeing or picking up an old hobby, we’re keen to reveal why adults feel most fulfilled between 51-60 years old.

Lisa Snowdon took to the streets to find out
Lisa Snowdon, our Chief Joy Officer for Reserve, by Warner Hotels recently took to the streets of Chipping Norton near the stunning Heythrop Park to speak with the public and uncover the joys us Brits experience as adults. An ambassador for health, wellbeing and self-acceptance for people in their 50s and beyond, Lisa explores how feelings of happiness and contentment change as we get older, and how people begin to feel more confident and grounded – watch the full video here.
“I truly believe that age is just a number, and I’ve spent so many of my recent years rediscovering things that bring me happiness.
“Whether it’s restarting a hobby I had when I was younger, focusing more on my wellbeing and mindfulness or simply laughing till my cheeks hurt with people I love.
“Whatever age you are, it’s never too late to discover – or rediscover – something that will bring you contentment and fulfilment in life.” - Lisa Snowdon

Finding contentment later in life
Our recent research explored how life satisfaction evolves as we get older and showed how 49% valued the freedom to spend time with loved ones. The survey of 2,000 adults over the age of 50 revealed that:
- 47% said laughing with loved ones brings them the most fulfilment.
- Over a third felt more content by prioritising their physical and mental wellbeing.
- 38% valued the opportunity to explore new places.
- Over 42% claim they truly understood what they wanted out of life by the time they reached their fifth decade.
