AUGUST BREAK FAQs
What is the weather like in August in the UK?
August is typically one of the warmest months in the UK, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). You can expect long daylight hours, pleasant sunshine, and mild evenings, perfect for enjoying outdoor activities, garden strolls, and al fresco dining. However, occasional showers are possible, so it’s always a good idea to come prepared.
Which Warner Hotel is best to visit in August?
In August, each Warner Hotel offers a unique atmosphere, so the best choice depends on what kind of break you’re looking for.
Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire stands out with its stunning grounds and access to nearby Sherwood Forest, ideal for summer walks and picnics.
Bembridge Coast on the Isle of Wight is also a favourite for its seaside views and relaxing coastal atmosphere—great for making the most of the sunny weather.
For countryside strolls and scenic heritage tours, Studley Castle in Warwickshire is also particularly popular this time of year.
Gunton Hall and Corton by the Suffolk coast are charming in the summer with easy access to beaches and refreshing sea air.
That said, all of our hotels make for a great stay in August.
What should I pack for a UK break in August?
That all depends on how you plan to spend your break, but you should pack light, breathable clothing for warm days, along with a light jacket or cardigan for cooler evenings.
Comfortable walking shoes are a must for exploring hotel gardens and local attractions. Don’t forget sunglasses, sun cream, and an umbrella or waterproof jacket—British weather can be unpredictable, even in summer!
If you fancy dressing up, you could pack some dressier evening attire for dinner and nightly entertainment.
You should always pack your swimwear for every break, as all our hotels have an indoor pool and sauna to use at your leisure all year round. Many have spa treatment rooms too, and you can easily book spa treatments on My Warner Stay.
Spa treatments are available at all locations excluding Corton Coastal Village and Norton Grange. Gunton Hall offers packages and treatments to guests staying at Corton Coastal Village. Norton Grange is excluded. Additional supplements apply.
