We’re thrilled to announce that significant investments and improvements are on the horizon for Thoresby Hall for it to transition into a Reserve Hotel. We understand that you may have some questions. We’ve collated all the information here for a handy guide on what you can expect.

Refurbishment times and overview

What areas of the hotel are you refurbishing?

We are excited that several of our communal spaces including the delightful Manor House rooms and the magnificent Great Hall, will soon be undergoing refurbishments. This refurbishment aims to enhance your experience and elevate the charm of our beloved hotel.

The Great Hall will be closed for renovations from November 3rd to November 14th. While this area is unavailable during this period, guests staying in our manor house will still have access to their Manor rooms.

Before your arrival, we will provide you with information on how these upgrades may affect your stay. Rest assured; we are committed to minimizing any disruptions during this process. Your comfort and satisfaction remain our top priorities.

What time during the day will work be taking place?

To keep disruption to a minimum work will take place between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are committed to minimizing any disruption to your break and aim to keep noise to a minimum. 

Arrival and departure

What can I expect when I arrive?

As we work diligently to enhance your experience, rest assured that your arrival will remains seamless and unchanged. 

If you are arriving on a Monday or Friday, you will check in as usual at the lodge on the drive, all other days please go to reception, where our friendly team will be there to greet you with a welcome pack. 

When you arrive, please proceed to our designated guest car park. Here, you'll find two conveniently located EV charging points ready for your electric vehicle.

Restaurants and dining

Will my dining experience be affected?

As we embark on refurbishments in our two restaurants, we want to ensure that your culinary experience remains delightful and enjoyable.

Brasserie32 will be undergoing renovations from September 29th to October 31st. During this period, all breakfast and evening meals will be served at the Market Kitchen.

The Market Kitchen will receive a makeover from November 3rd to December 19th. But don’t worry - We’ll continue serving delicious meals at the Market Kitchen, and we’re pleased to offer an additional dining area in our Sherwood 2 restaurant located right next door.

If there are any significant changes to your existing dining arrangements, one of our team members will reach out to you directly to discuss alternative options. If you don’t hear from us, rest assured that your dining plans remain unchanged.

Where can I get enjoy lunch during my stay?

There are two different locations you can enjoy lunch when you are staying with us which is the coffee nest within the Pavilion and the Manvers Bar within the manor house which will both be included in our refurbishment.

This means that while one location is being transformed into an even more inviting space, you'll still have the pleasure of dining in the other. Whether you’re craving a warm cup of coffee and cake or a leisurely lunch, we’ve got you covered.

Daytime and evening entertainment

Is the entertainment venue affected by the refurbishment?

The refurbishment of the Entertainment Pavilion will take place between the 1st September until the 24th October. This refurbishment aims to enhance your experience, ensuring that our beloved Pavilion remains a vibrant hub for entertainment.

All refurbishment activities will take place during our designated working hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. This means you can still enjoy your favourite evening events in the Pavilion without interruption.

Additionally, we’re pleased to inform you that we will be offering a personal to your table service/My Warner Serve will be available throughout this period, allowing you to easily order your drinks – so why not treat yourself to a cocktail or two.

Will there be enough seating in the Entertainment venue in the evening?

Absolutely! You’ll be pleased to know that our Entertainment venue boasts ample seating, ensuring that you can comfortably enjoy the show without any worries.

Can we still expect the same evening entertainment throughout our stay?

We’ll still be offering the same advertised visiting acts and shows from our renowned Warner Theatre Company during your break. Every night, our talented performers will take the stage in our Entertainment venue, bringing you unforgettable shows that are sure to delight. The entertainment scheduled for your stay can be found on your booking confirmation.

I’ve booked a VIP Experience. Is this still available during my stay?

  Yes, you’ll still be able to enjoy the VIP experience during your stay.  

Activities

Will activities be affected?

Please be assured, we will be offering all our usual fun packed activities that you have become accustomed to. We will continue to offer a variety of daytime activities, things to do can be found here Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire | Warner Hotels. Our games room is unaffected by the refurbishment for you to enjoy snooker or darts. Activities can also be booked in advance on MyWarnerStay.co.uk

Activities that would usually take place in our Entertainment Venue between the 1st September until the 24th October will be offered in alternative venues whilst this is undergoing refurbishment. Full details will be provided in our entertainment programme upon arrival.

Will you still be showing films and where can I watch?

Yes, films will still be available in the Cinema room.

I’ve booked a tasting experience. Where will this be taking place?

All our tasting experiences are confirmed to take place, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Upon your arrival, we will provide you with the exact location—ensuring that every detail is taken care of.

If you haven't secured your spot yet, don’t delay! Limited spaces are available, and they’re filling up fast.

Are any outdoor activities affected by the refurbishment?

No, activities will continue as scheduled, unaffected by the ongoing refurbishment.

Spa and leisure

Will the pool, sauna and steam room be open during my stay?

The pool will be unaffected by the refurbishments and be open every day from 7am-6pm.

While we are aiming to give the ultimate spa experience at Thoresby Hall this will include refurbishments of the sauna and steam rooms meaning these will be unavailable from the 1st September until the 19th December.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but rest assured, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained during your visit! Whether it's lounging by the pool, participating in engaging activities, or exploring nearby attractions, we’re confident you'll find ample ways to fill your time with us.

Can I still book a spa treatment? Where will these take place?

Yes, spa treatments are still available for your enjoyment! Immerse yourself in a world of tranquillity as you experience our luxurious offerings.

Your treatments will take place in our serene treatment rooms, conveniently located next to the gym. Upon arrival, all guests will be warmly welcomed at our temporary spa and leisure reception area, where our friendly staff will personally escort you to your designated treatment space.  

I require the use of the lift to access the spa area. Will this be available during my stay?

Yes, access to the pool area via the lift will be available throughout.

Will I still be able to access the gym?

Yes, the gym will be available for guests throughout the renovation project apart from between X-X (10-day period TBC).
